ADOS Assessment

ADOS Assessment

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is a structured, evidence-based assessment used to support the identification and understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The assessment uses interactive activities designed to observe communication, social interaction, play, behaviour, and emotional responses in a supportive and naturalistic environment.

Our ADOS assessments are carried out in a calm, child-friendly, and neuroaffirming way that prioritises comfort, dignity, and understanding. We recognise that every individual presents differently, and assessments are adapted sensitively to age, communication style, and developmental level.

The assessment process may include:

* Parent or caregiver interviews
* Developmental history gathering
* Structured interaction tasks
* Observation of communication and social interaction
* Play-based activities
* Behavioural observations
* Written reports and recommendations

Following the assessment, families receive clear feedback, practical recommendations, and guidance on next steps, which may include therapy support, school recommendations, communication strategies, or referrals where appropriate.

ADOS Assessments May Help With:

* Clarifying social communication differences
* Understanding developmental strengths and needs
* Supporting access to services and educational support
* Guiding intervention planning
* Providing greater understanding for families and schools
