Hiyam Andon is a PROMPT Certified Instructor, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), International Behavior Analyst (IBA), and UK Society for Behaviour Analysis (UK-SBA) Certified Behaviour Analyst, with over 17 years of international clinical experience supporting children and adults with autism, motor speech disorders, and complex communication needs.
Hiyam completed her Speech and Language Therapy training at the University of Perugia in Italy and later obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom. Her clinical approach integrates PROMPT motor speech intervention, and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to deliver functional, evidence-based, and highly individualised intervention programmes.
Throughout her career, Hiyam has worked across clinical, educational, rehabilitation, and home-based settings throughout Europe and the Middle East. She has extensive experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), motor speech disorders, expressive and receptive language difficulties, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and other developmental communication needs.
Hiyam is the founder of Connected Steps, a multidisciplinary therapy and training service based in London. Alongside her clinical work, she provides ABA supervision for behaviour analysts, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams, supporting the development of ethical, effective, and evidence-based practice. In addition, she offers PROMPT mentoring and clinical guidance for speech and language therapists completing PROMPT training and working toward certification.
She is passionate about empowering families, schools, and professionals through practical, evidence-based training and consultation. Her work includes parent coaching, school staff training, professional development workshops, and multidisciplinary collaboration designed to support meaningful and sustainable outcomes across home, educational, and clinical environments.
Alongside her clinical and supervisory work, Hiyam delivers international professional training in ABA, communication intervention, and PROMPT. She collaborates with The PROMPT Institute and is currently the only Arabic-speaking PROMPT Certified Instructor worldwide, supporting the development of culturally and linguistically accessible PROMPT training for professionals and families across diverse communities.
Hiyam provides therapy, supervision, mentoring, and training in English, Arabic, and Italian, enabling her to support families and professionals from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
