Talk Tools / OPT
TalkTools and Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) are approaches used to support the development of oral motor awareness, stability, coordination, and movement patterns needed for speech clarity, feeding, and overall oral function.
Therapy focuses on improving the movement and coordination of the jaw, lips, tongue, and breath support through structured activities and sensory-motor techniques tailored to the individual’s specific needs. These approaches may support individuals with motor speech difficulties, feeding challenges, low oral tone, articulation difficulties, or reduced oral awareness.
Sessions are designed to complement functional speech and communication goals and are integrated thoughtfully within a broader evidence-based therapy framework.
Intervention is always individualised and may include play-based activities, feeding support, sensory strategies, and parent or caregiver coaching.
